Last week the Institute of Social Ethics (ISE) seated at the University of Lucerne has officially announced its partnership with Trust Square. ISE's research is dedicated to ethical issues in the context of digitalization, robotization and automatization driven by the deployment of artificial intelligence.

The collaboration should enrich the interdisciplinary discourse in order to raise the awareness for ethical issues within the blockchain industry. What happens if algorithms determine human action? What happens if technology interacts autonomously with society? For the ISE conversely, the practical insights are of great value for examining such questions.

Being part of Trust Square, this is an ideal opportunity for Dezentrum, as the academic exchange can be fruitful for our future projects. In this context we are happy to have Prof. Peter G. Kirchschläger, full professor at ISE, in our advisory board. As he states himself in the press announcement of the ISE, the holistic approach to blockchain technology is necessary, not only to explore the potential for innovation, but also to identify from an ethical perspective the chances and risks that come along. In so doing, we can find a sensitive handling for society. See the official press announcement by the Institute of Social Ethics, University of Lucerne here.
